About the program

Safe Sitter® is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for children or staying home alone. The program is designed for young adults in 4 – 8 grades who will babysit or stay home alone. These classes teach safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Students learn life-saving skills, such as how to rescue someone choking, and helpful information, like what to do if there’s severe weather.
