The Manhattan Fire Protection District is now offering a career-orientated program for young adults interested in a career in emergency services. This program provides a systematic means for selected fire science or emergency medical services students to receive an enriched educational internship while preparing them to have a successful career in the field of emergency services.
General Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in one or more of the following: fire science course, fire academy, EMT- B, or Paramedic school
- Be a certified Basic Operations Firefighter with the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshall or a licensed IDPH EMT- B or Paramedic Have a valid Illinois Class B non-CDL Driver’s License
- Not have felony convictions
